FocusKPI is looking for an In-product Motion Designer on W2to join one of our clients, a high-tech SaaS company. 

Our client's Brand XP team is a horizontal team that operates within the Brand Studio, focused on in-product brand. More specifically, we partner with product teams to build experiences for high impact areas of the business. 
They are hiring a contract motion designer for a 3 month engagement, focused on creating branded product experiences using Lottie and Rive. This role will also include UX motion work, particularly system driven animations in collaboration with our design systems team. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be responsible for writing clear motion documentation and partnering closely with engineering to support implementation. You’ll collaborate directly with brand experience designers, product teams, and engineering partners to deliver branded in-product motion as well as UI motion to the highest impact areas of the product. You’ll need to have end-to-end experience in motion from concept to technical execution with our engineers and system partners for scalability.

Work Location:   Remote - anywhere in the US
Duration: 3-month contract with possibility for extension depending on your performance and budget
Pay Range:  $58/hr to $68/hr

Responsibilities:

• Bringing motion into our brand and visual systems across our products. 
• Proficient in working with illustrators and design directors on delivering animated brand assets in 2D/3D, ideation and concept development, working with engineering for implementation across desktop, mobile, and web surfaces – understands constraints of working within product.
• Familiar with systems level thinking and building out scalable motion tokens/guidelines to be reused within Dropbox.
• Technical ability to deliver product-ready motion assets paired with clear documentation for engineering

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a motion role (at least 2+ years in a product environment ).
• A strong working knowledge of visual design , motion design, and technical knowledge
• Recognized expertise in motion for interaction across desktop, mobile, and web
• Experience translating motion into developer-ready specs is important
• Comprehensive awareness and interest in new platforms and technologies for motion design and related media.
• Proven track record for delivering in-product motion at a high level of craft
• Preferred background in tech/product orgs (e.g., Slack, Airbnb, Figma)
• Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels.
• Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short and long-term needs.
• Candidates with strong portfolios demonstrating product motion design are highly prioritized  (Portfolios must show in-product motion design (not marketing/branding work))
• Tools: After Effects (required), Lottie/Rive (preferred)
• Screen for collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
