1kx is a global crypto investment firm that specializes in ecosystem growth. Our team comprises technical operators and strategic thinkers who work closely with our portfolio of 90+ companies, with the goal of being the most founder-friendly and helpful source of capital.

We are a fully remote team with colleagues across North America, Europe, and Asia. This role reports directly to the General Partners and will work closely with the Investment Team.

We are looking for a curious, sharp, and proactive Investment Analyst to join our team with a focus on payments, real-world assets tokenization (RWAs), and broader DeFi. You'll play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and supporting investments at the intersection of crypto and traditional finance. This role is ideal for someone with an investing, capital markets, and/or fintech background who's excited about the modernization of financial infrastructure via blockchain technology.

As an Analyst, you'll contribute to our investment decisions by performing rigorous research and due diligence, distilling complex technical and financial information, and identifying early trends in the space. You'll also work closely with portfolio founders, offering support across go-to-market strategy, business development, and ecosystem navigation.

What you offer:

• Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or fintech, with a strong interest in blockchain technology and financial infrastructure
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a proven ability to distill insights from complex datasets or market signals
• Ability to form a clear opinion on emerging projects and communicate it in structured investment memos
• Self-starter attitude with a strong sense of ownership and intellectual curiosity
• Familiarity with how payment flows and asset issuance function in both traditional and crypto environments
• Passion for decentralized finance and what it can mean for the future of money flows, including subtopics such as cross-border payments, tokenized assets, onchain credit, and stablecoins
• Comfort reading and summarizing whitepapers and financial models 

What you'll do:

• Research & Thesis Development: Conduct deep-dive research and create investment theses on various topics such as payment rails, real-world assets, and onchain credit
• Deal Sourcing & Evaluation: Proactively surface new projects, conduct due diligence (team, product, market), and draft investment memos
• Portfolio Support: Assist portfolio teams on product, market positioning, and business development 
• Market Monitoring: Stay on top of ecosystem developments, including new project launches, protocol upgrades, token design innovations, and shifts in user or developer activity within your focus areas
• Ecosystem Engagement: Attend industry events and build relationships with founders, operators, and investors in your focus areas
