Job Description

About OptiSigns

OptiSigns is a Houston-based B2B SaaS company that helps more than 22,000 organizations engage customers and employees through intuitive digital-screen solutions. We believe great software should feel effortless—even to non-technical users—and that thoughtful design is as critical as solid engineering. We’re extending that mindset to OptiSigns University , a video-first learning hub that makes every feature click for our users.

Why this role exists

Our customers learn visually. We need a creative storyteller who can turn complex workflows into clear, binge-worthy videos that educate, delight, and drive adoption. If you love geeking out on tech, can break things down like a favorite teacher, and enjoy owning the full content-creation stack—from script to final upload—this is your stage.

What you’ll do

45 % – Plan & script

  • • Own the editorial calendar for OptiSigns University (feature tutorials, pro-tips, release rundowns, case studies, webinars).
  • • Write concise, engaging scripts, outlines, and on-screen text that make every second count.

40 % – Produce & edit

  • • Capture talking-head and screen-share footage; light, film, and record crisp audio (studio or remote).
  • • Edit in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve; add motion graphics, callouts, captions, and B-roll.
  • • Maintain our brand voice, visual style, and accessibility (captions, color contrast, descriptive voice-overs).

10 % – Publish, optimize & engage

  • • Upload to YouTube, the learning center, and in-app surfaces; craft click-worthy titles, thumbnails, and descriptions.
  • • Use YouTube Studio & GA4 to track watch-time, retention, and CTA performance—then iterate.

5 % – Collaborate & evangelize

  • • Partner with product, marketing, and support to stay ahead of upcoming launches and top support tickets.
  • • Champion video best practices company-wide; coach teammates on on-camera skills when needed.

Requirements

What you bring

  • 2–5 years creating tech-focused video content (YouTube channel, course platform, or equivalent portfolio required).
  • Proven on-camera presence and the ability to explain nuanced SaaS features in plain English.
  • Advanced editing chops in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or Resolve; comfort with screen-capture tools (Camtasia, Loom, OBS).
  • Strong writing skills—clear, concise, and audience-aware.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics (After Effects, CapCut, or similar) and thumbnail design (Figma, Photoshop).
  • Working knowledge of SEO for video (keywords, metadata, chapters, end-screens).
  • Self-organized: you can juggle multiple projects, hit deadlines, and pivot with product changes.
  • Empathy for non-technical users and an instinct for simplifying complex workflows.

Bonus points

  • Experience with hardware , software reviews or B2B SaaS products.
  • Livestream/webinar production skills (StreamYard, OBS, Restream).
  • Voice-over, podcasting, or blog-writing chops.
  • Capability to translate or subtitle content in additional languages.

Benefits

Compensation, Benefits & Perks

  • Base salary $60 k – $75 k USD , depending on experience.
  • 10% performance bonus based on KPIs: subscribers, engagement, watch time.
  • Gear stipend $3 k – $5 k for camera, mic, lighting, teleprompter, and any accessories you need.
  • Latest MacBook Pro (our standard is M4 Pro 16' - 48GB RAM or equivalent production setup of your choice).
  • Creative runway —freedom to experiment with live streams, Shorts, webinars, and new formats.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous PTO & paid holidays.
  • Monthly learning stipend (courses, conferences, books).

We review every application personally and respond within a week.
