Job Description

We are an established and successful tax resolution law firm dedicated to protecting individuals and small businesses facing tax problems. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Resolution Specialist to join our remote team. This role is designed to save leadership time, protect the firm’s reputation, and increase overall profitability. This position includes dedicated support from a virtual assistant who will assist with case management, client communications, and gathering necessary documentation from clients. Each Tax Resolution Specialist is paired with a dedicated virtual assistant who helps manage case workflows, client communications, and document collection — allowing you to focus on strategy, resolution, and client outcomes. Responsibilities:

• Manage IRS and Washington State Department of Revenue cases from start to finish
• Develop resolution strategies tailored to each client’s unique facts and circumstances
• Communicate professionally with clients, tax agencies, and internal team members
• Utilize IRS Logics, Pitbull Tax Software, Outlook, and QuickBooks for case management
• Collaborate with 1–2 assigned virtual assistants to support client communication and case resolution

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience resolving IRS and state tax issues
• Proven success handling: Offer in Compromise (OIC), Currently Not Collectible (CNC), Installment Agreements, Audit representation, Penalty abatement
• Experience working with state tax cases. Washington State Department of Revenue cases
• Proficiency in IRS Logics, Pitbull Tax Software, Outlook, and QuickBooks
• Strong understanding of federal and Washington state tax codes
• Must be able to analyze transcripts and financials to develop resolution strategies
• Ability to explain complex tax matters in plain language, Experience mentoring junior staff, or managing case workflows
• Prior work in a law firm or tax resolution firm environment
• Business-minded: understands how resolution work impacts firm profitability
• Experience contributing to upsells or cross-selling services
