Job Summary
The Senior Regulatory Risk Specialist is responsible for ensuring the compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigating risks associated with non-compliance. This role involves staying updated on changing regulations, analyzing their impact on the bank’s operations, and developing strategies to address potential risks.
Primary Responsibilities
• Responsible for monitoring and interpreting regulatory changes and assessing their impact on the Bank’s operations and risk profile.
• Accountable for ensuring that the bank remains compliant with all relevant regulations, both current and emerging, by implementing necessary controls and policies.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive regulatory risk management framework that identifies, measures, monitors, and mitigates risks.
• Accountable for monitoring and interpreting regulatory changes and ensuring the bank’s policies and procedures align with them.

• Accountable for collaborating with senior management to create strategies that align the bank’s operations with regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for leading regulatory risk assessments and providing actionable insights to mitigate potential risks.
• Responsible for coordinating and supporting internal and external audits, ensuring that all regulatory compliance issues are addressed.
• Accountable for maintaining documentation and records related to regulatory risk management activities, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Seeks out, develops and maintains knowledge and skills through completion of continuing education and training pertinent to the position.

Qualifications and Skills
• In-depth knowledge of BSA, loan and deposit laws and regulations, Fair Lending, CRA, Privacy including GLBA, HMDA, TRID, open-end credits, deposit laws including APYs and technical compliance.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Adobe PDF.
• Professional certification desired (CAMS or BSA Certificates from a qualified learning institution).
• Strong research and investigating skills (use of the Internet to uncover information).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational skills and time management.
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and Experience
• High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree and/or higher education preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working directly with BSA laws and regulations or equivalent experience (i.e., six years in banking industry) required.
• Willing to initiate BSA/AML certification within six (6) months of hiring or currently working towards certification.
• Knowledge of Jack Henry Software (Jack Henry Silverlake system) preferred.
*This position will comply with all BSA compliance laws and regulations including the Bank’s BSA policy and procedures.
