Skate School Instructor - Skate School and/or Specialty Part-Time

We are hiring enthusiastic, supportive, and motivated individuals to join our Skate School Instructors Pool for our beginner-friendly Skate School program. No prior roller skating coaching experience is required — just a passion for helping people, the ability to lead, and a willingness to learn.

Who We're Looking For:

• Natural leaders or mentors with experience in coaching, teaching, youth programs, or leadership roles (sports, education, camps, or community organizations).
• People who are excited about growing the sport of roller skating and making new skaters feel welcome, supported, and motivated.
• Strong communicators who can make beginners feel confident and capable, even if they’re nervous or struggling at first.
• Team players who are punctual, reliable , and coachable.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must attend 2 training sessions :
• Option 1: Sunday mornings in mid-late August
• Option 2: Tuesday evenings in mid-late August
• (Specific dates will be provided after scheduling confirmation)
• Must be available for weekly class sessions on both Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings starting in late August or early September.
• Must be comfortable wearing roller skates during instruction (you do not need to be an expert skater—just confident, balanced, and willing to grow).
• Must pass a basic background check.
• Age requirement: 16+

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

• Experience in dance, cheer, gymnastics, hockey, or other movement-based instruction
• Experience working with kids or community organizations
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to get certified)

Training Provided Includes:

• Basic skating instruction techniques
• Safety procedures
• Classroom management
• Progression methods for beginner skaters
• How to deliver a fun, inclusive, and confidence-building class
