ILM builds interactive experiences for Virtual and Augmented Reality and other emerging platforms. Our mission is to tell stories in new ways that leverage real-time graphics on ultra high-end hardware. We combine techniques from film VFX production with techniques from the video game industry to produce real-time experiences of the highest fidelity.
We are looking for a motivated individual who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, collaborative mindset and passion for great storytelling that defines the interactive group of ILM.
Quality Assurance Analysts are responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our immersive experiences by implementing test plans, executing test cases and scripts, and tracking/documenting software and product features and flaws.
This role is considered Onsite, which means the employee will work 100% onsite 5 days a week at our San Francisco, Presidio office.
What You’ll Do
Perform build verification testing; regression testing; and general testing for quality & performance.
Work directly with the development teams.
Assist in the refinement and improvements of test procedures and test plans.
Provide assistance to Designers and Engineers, regarding game-play and game-balance analysis.
Identify and report defects and deficiencies to maintain a high quality level with our products.
Test and verify quality of software and internal tools.
Travel to on-location destinations to ensure integration and functionality.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years experience as a QA Analyst / Compatibility Technician / Tester in the game industry or related field
Ability to follow rigorous quality assurance processes.
Thorough understanding of the importance of QA and testing.
Ability to evaluate and develop complicated processes and suggest improvements effectively.
Strong knowledge of JIRA or equivalent bug/issue tracking software tools.
Industry experience in production, QA, or software development.
PC, Console (PlayStation, XBOX, etc.) game testing experience.
Past experience testing mobile games (iOS/Anroid, etc.)
Self-motivated and able to work without supervision while still maintaining productivity.
Clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
Bonus points for:
Experience testing mobile hardware devices, VR, and/or network connectivity.
Previous experience with Unreal Engine.
