Project Manager (Financial Services) -New York, NY 12 month contract position with possible extensions

• Must be local in NYC Will require onsite interview
• Must have financial services experience, ideally from a Hedge Fund, Private Equity or Investment Firm

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Management Consultant to support the Data Team. This individual will play a key role in managing deliverables, timelines, and cross-functional communication to ensure successful execution of data-related projects across the organization. This is a remote contract role with direct visibility into high-impact data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the central point of coordination for the Data Team's project pipeline, ensuring timely delivery of all initiatives.
• Track and manage project milestones, tasks, and deliverables using project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Smartsheet.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across business units, technology teams, and third-party vendors to gather requirements and monitor dependencies.
• Facilitate regular status meetings, updates, and reporting to data leadership and business sponsors.
• Maintain and update project documentation, including timelines, status dashboards, risk logs, and action item trackers.
• Identify project risks or blockers early and escalate appropriately.
• Ensure alignment between business priorities and technical execution by keeping all teams informed and in sync.
• Support process optimization and standardization across the Data Team's operational workflows.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a Project Management role, preferably within financial services, fintech, or data-driven organizations.
• Strong familiarity with data project lifecycles, including data warehousing, reporting, data governance, or analytics delivery.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., JIRA, Asana, MS Project, Trello).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-starter with a consultative mindset and attention to detail.
