Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for supervising production staff, ensuring food safety and quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, team leadership, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production personnel across assigned shifts.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, FDA, USDA, and company-specific food safety regulations.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust resources as needed to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Train, coach, and evaluate team members to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
• Implement and maintain safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly and maintained in good condition.
• Track production metrics such as yield, efficiency, downtime, and quality; report results to management.
• Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Maintain accurate records of production, safety incidents, quality checks, and personnel performance.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve issues and maintain workflow.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment.
• Working knowledge of food safety standards (GMPs, HACCP, SQF/BRC, etc.).

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in production software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Must be able to work in a cold, wet, or hot production environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on production needs.
