Pharmacy Technician - Central Fill Facility

? Description: We are seeking an Entry-Level Pharmacy Technician to join our automated central fill pharmacy team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment of prescriptions for retail pharmacies across Indiana and, eventually, Minnesota.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prescription Fulfillment:

• Manually fill prescriptions and package medications for distribution.

• Replenish medications for automated dispensing stations.

• Stock and organize medication packages in designated areas.

• Pharmacy Systems & Technology Maintenance:

• Operate and maintain inventory systems and automated medication counting machines.

• Monitor inventory levels and expiration dates for pharmaceuticals.

• Calibrate machines and apply pill/capsule specifications to minimize breakage.

• Troubleshoot pill cell issues (e.g., jams) to maintain production flow.

• Inventory Management:

• Sort, store, and replenish medication stock in appropriate locations.

• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.

• Ensure stock rotation (first-in, first-out) and report low stock levels.

• Create inventory reports using pharmacy information systems.

• Documentation & Compliance:

• Enter and update pharmaceutical data in systems and forms.

• Prepare and maintain documentation, reports, and compliance records.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in records and processes.

• Support state board-mandated testing and reporting requirements.

• Production Workflow:

• Use scanners to select pharmaceutical products and verify size, strength, and quantity.

• Label prescriptions, weigh medications, and ensure accuracy.

• Prepare packages and distribute medications in a fast-paced environment.

• Replenish automated counting machines to maintain continuous workflow.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Active Pharmacy Technician License and National Certification (PTCB or NHA).

• Meets all state requirements for registration, certification, and/or licensure.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume production environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Retail or warehouse experience.

• Prior experience in central fill, pill-pak, specialty/mail order pharmacy, or shipping department.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs without assistance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainfield, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.50/hr.
