Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgical teams during procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, and providing high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, aseptic techniques, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for use.
- Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations by passing instruments and providing necessary support.
- Utilize basic life support techniques as needed to ensure patient safety.
- Collect data and maintain accurate records related to surgical procedures and patient care.
- Follow established protocols for aseptic technique to prevent infections.
- Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments post-procedure.
- Collaborate with team members in an ambulatory surgery center setting to provide optimal patient outcomes.
- Stay informed about advancements in surgical techniques and technologies relevant to the role.
Years of Experience: 1 year(s)
Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA
T ypes of Cases REQ : Outpatient, Community Hospital, ORTHO, Neuro, Vascular EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experience
- Previous experience in an acute care setting is preferred, with familiarity in operating rooms (OR) being highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the surgical team.
- Experience with suturing techniques is advantageous, particularly in pediatrics or emergency medicine environments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for maintaining a safe and efficient surgical environment.
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (09:00 - 21:00)
