Job Description
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality systems while driving efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
+ Process Development & Optimization
+ Design and implement manufacturing processes for aerospace parts and assemblies.
+ Develop detailed work instructions, tooling requirements, and process flow documentation.
+ Optimize production methods to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain quality.
+ Quality & Compliance
+ Ensure adherence to AS9100, FAA, and other applicable aerospace standards.
+ Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
+ Maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
+ Continuous Improvement
+ Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance productivity.
+ Identify opportunities for automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.
+ Support cost-reduction projects without compromising quality or safety.
+ Technical Support
+ Provide engineering support to production teams for troubleshooting and process improvements.
+ Assist in root cause analysis for manufacturing issues and implement permanent solutions.
+ Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition from design to production.
+ Documentation & Reporting
+ Prepare and maintain process documentation, including PFMEA, control plans, and work instructions.
+ Generate reports on process performance, efficiency metrics, and improvement projects.
Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
+ Experience: 1+ years in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or defense industries.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle).
+ Familiarity with additive manufacturing and advanced aerospace materials.
+ Green Belt or Black Belt certification in Six Sigma.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
