Junior Estimator – Commercial Construction

Kapella Group, a premier general contractor specializing in Capital Expenditure (CapEx) renovations for commercial and multifamily properties across CO, FL, AZ, WA, KS, and TX, is growing! We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator – Commercial Construction to support our preconstruction team and help drive project success. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience with a company known for quality, innovation, and a strong track record in the renovation and construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preconstruction process by assisting with estimates, takeoffs, proposal preparation, and procurement tasks.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, particularly in concrete, masonry, and steel , to support accurate cost estimation.
  • Help maintain and update historical cost databases relevant to our project markets.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of cost proposals under the guidance of senior estimators.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Attend site visits and assist in gathering relevant data for accurate estimates.
  • Help manage bid processes, including collecting and organizing subcontractor bids.
  • Participate in team meetings to review project plans and timelines.
  • Assist with the development of construction budgets aligned with initial estimates.
  • Support the prequalification of subcontractors and maintain subcontractor databases.
  • Maintain clear communication with the sales and operations teams to ensure project alignment.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating (multifamily, hospitality, or general contracting experience is a plus).
  • Experience or familiarity with quantity takeoffs for concrete, masonry, and steel trades.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam and estimating software tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation:

  • Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 per year (based on experience)
