**General Laborer / Construction Labor - El Cajon ($17/hr - $18/hr)** **Shift- 1st / 2nd** **Job Description** Join our dynamic team in the mill area, where you will play a crucial role in processing cabinets before they are assembled. You will operate machinery to cut wood according to specifications and verify measurements using a tape measure. After ensuring accuracy, you will transport the cabinets to the assembly area. There is an opportunity to be cross-trained in assembly, involving drilling and screwing hardware into place. You may also operate a sanding machine to smooth out the wood. **Responsibilities** + Operate machinery to process wood for cabinet assembly. + Verify measurements with a tape measure, ensuring all are in inches. + Transport processed wood to the assembly area. + Participate in the assembly process by drilling and screwing hardware. + Operate a sanding machine as needed. + Assist in other tasks as required and help team members when available. **Essential Skills** + Proficient in using a tape measure. + Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction in inches. + Capable of bending, kneeling, and lifting 50 lbs consecutively throughout the day. + Experience with hand and power tools. + Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus. + Experience in carpentry or furniture assembly is advantageous. + Willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays, as needed. **Why Work Here?** Our workplace offers ample room for growth for those who demonstrate commitment and dedication. Most employees are Spanish speakers, so being comfortable working in a multicultural environment is essential. Our team-oriented culture requires self-efficiency and initiative. The majority of openings are in the Mill Department, with other departments including Finishing, Assembly, and Painting. The shift is Monday to Friday, 2:30pm - 11:15pm, with training on the 1st shift (5am - 2:45pm) for 1-3 weeks. Attire includes closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, and back support if available. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
