POSITION SUMMARY: Food Runners are primarily responsible for assisting chefs with the preparation of garnishes, bowls, plates, and other culinary items. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of food from the kitchen to the tables. Food Runners must possess a thorough understanding of the menu, including knowledge of all allergies and dietary restrictions. We are seeking candidates who are detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to delivering exceptional service.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

• Assist chefs with the preparation of garnishes, bowls, plates, and organising other culinary items.
• Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet quality and presentation standards.
• Run food from the chef's pass to the appropriate tables in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with servers regarding table numbers, food orders, and special requests.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, allergens, and dietary restrictions.
• Monitor drop times to ensure food is served fresh and hot to guests.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to prioritize orders and maintain efficiency during service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food running station.
• Provide support to servers and other staff members as needed to enhance guest satisfaction.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry trays of food and other items as needed.
• Manual dexterity for handling plates, bowls, and utensils.
• Stamina to handle the demands of a busy kitchen environment.

COMPENSATION: The base pay range for this position is paid a minimum wage + tips.
