About Us
Carousel of Languages is a premier early childhood language program dedicated to inspiring a love of language and culture from the earliest years. For over 25 years, we’ve been providing exceptional multilingual education to children ages 0–6 in New York City and beyond.
As we expand our curriculum, research, and EdTech initiatives, we’re seeking a Finance Administrator to help support our growing operations. Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Finance Administrator to manage day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in both in-person and remote settings. You will collaborate directly the Founder & CEO to ensure the smooth running of financial processes and accurate reporting that supports our mission and growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and expense tracking.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Reconcile credit card accounts, and vendor payments.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly summaries for internal review.
  • Support payroll administration and liaise with external accountants.
  • Help manage investor documentation
  • Contribute to improving financial systems and workflows as the organization scales.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or finance experience (nonprofit or education experience a plus).
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Workspace.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable balancing independent work (remote) with on-site collaboration as needed.
  • Professional, trustworthy, and aligned with the values of a mission-driven organization.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time: Approximately 10 hours per week.
  • Hybrid: Combination of remote work and in-person meetings at our Upper East Side location.
  • Schedule flexibility available around key deliverables and reporting deadlines.
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
