ECEAP Preschool Classroom Assistant/Aide

Location: Lilac City Early Learning Center – 1020 E. Cozza Drive Spokane, 99208

Job Type: Full-Time

Hours of Operation: 7:00 AM-5:30 PM

We are seeking a dependable, caring, and passionate Preschool Classroom Assistant or Aide to work with our 3-4-year-old preschool group . Candidates with preschool experience are preferred. Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive on time and prepared for the full scheduled shift.
  • Help facilitate and participate in engaging, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with curriculum objectives, ECEAP standards, and best practices .
  • Support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.
  • Assist in quarterly child assessments using program-approved developmental screeners.
  • Participate in Parent-Teacher conferences and maintain open communication with families.
  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and positive learning environment.
  • Help arrange and maintain the classroom environment according to program goals.
  • Monitor classroom materials, report damaged or lost items, and ensure timely replacements.
  • Maintain accurate child records , including attendance, medication logs, and incident reports .
  • Stay in compliance with all licensing regulations, ECEAP standards, and program policies .
  • Wear child-friendly clothing suitable for an active classroom setting.
  • Maintain and update professional records online via MERIT .

Required Qualifications (or Willingness to Obtain Upon Hire):

  • Negative TB Test (within the past 12 months)
  • Proof of MMR Vaccination or approved exemption
  • Physical Exam
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Training
  • WA State Food Handler’s Certificate
  • Infant/Child CPR & First Aid Certification
  • DCYF Background Check
  • DCYF Mandatory Trainings (via dcyftraining.com)
  • 30-Hour Child Care Basics (STARS) Training (within 90 days of hire)
