Job Overview The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other telephone calls.
Qualifications Required: - High School Graduate or GED
- Must be 18 years’ of age
- Driver’s License
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification
- APCO BTC or State approved equivalent Certification
- IAED Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification
- Hazmat Material Awareness training Certification
- Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training Certification
- ICS – 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800 Certification
Preferred - PHTLS/ITLS
- 1-3 years of previous dispatch experience related experience in firefighting/EMS
Certifications And Licenses Required - American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification
- APCO BTC or State approved equivalent Certification
- IAED Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification
- Hazmat Material Awareness training Certification
- Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training Certification
- ICS – 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800 Certification
Scheduling Requirements - Full-Time, Nights
- 40 hours per week
Essential Functions - The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other telephone calls, screening them according to the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch IAED ProQA system and dispatching the appropriate resources,
- The Dispatcher-EMT will utilize a Computer Aided Dispatch system, radio communications system, and telephone system to communicate with units in the field, update their status on assignment, and ensure the safety of all personnel,
- This position requires superior communication skills and customer service skills
