Job Description

Diesel Technician Overview Reporting to the Service Manager, Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of the trucks or equipment in the shop or field environment, while maintaining an acceptable level of productivity. Responsibilities Includes, but is not limited to,

• Performs a variety of repairs on various diesel truck systems including, but not limited to engines, transmissions, chassis, suspensions, body, and brakes according to specifications
• Performs maintenance and repairs accurately and safely by following established standards - conducting inspections sourcing additional information or parts, managing deviations, and returning unused or core parts
• Document work thoroughly by clearly describing completed repairs in the repair order
• Ability to read wiring schematics
• Apply technical expertise in troubleshooting, repair methods, vehicle systems, and proper tool usage to service International Truck and IC Bus products
• Maintains up-to-date product knowledge of International and IC Bus offerings
• Use OEM software, tools, and technologies to maintain, diagnose, and complete repairs to promptly address and resolve customer vehicle or equipment concerns
• Keep a clean and organized work area
• Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of PPE
• Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining strong relationships, understanding needs, and providing professional, timely support

Candidate Knowledge

• Medium or heavy-duty technician, equivalent experience or qualification
• Must have computer experience including Microsoft Office, email, and internet
• Experience with A/C systems
• Refrigerant 609 certified (Preferred)
• ASE certifications (Preferred)
• Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation – Class A (Preferred)
• Cummins engine experience (Preferred)
• International Master Certified (Preffered)
• Allison and Eaton transmission experience (Preferred)

Hours

• Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm
• Some overtime or Saturday work may be required at times
