You’ll welcome patients and conduct their initial screenings, perform thorough, dental cleanings, and help dentists with examinations and procedures. • Make impressions of patients’ teeth to ensure their mouthguards, dentures, etc. are made correctly
• Clean dental instruments to ensure everything is sterilized properly
• Check for issues such as gingivitis, periodontitis, or caries so patients can receive care as soon as the problem is identified
• Use x-ray machines to take photos of the patients’ teeth so the dentist can clearly identify cavities or other oral health issues
• Provide post-operative health education to patients so they can take practice good dental care at home after procedures

• Certified to perform CPR
• Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills
• Has dental hygienist licensure in the state where the job is located
• Understands HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines
• Associate’s degree and certification in dental hygiene program required, higher levels of education are highly valued
