Cost Accountant | Paw Paw, MI

Salary Range: $63,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare detailed variance reports.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
• Manage inventory valuation, reconciliation, and obsolescence for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Prepare and distribute regular cost reports, including product profitability analysis.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to production costs and capital expenditures.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and process improvements within manufacturing operations.
• Participate in month-end close activities, including COGS calculation and inventory adjustments.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and provide insights for cost control and process improvement.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis
• Experience with advanced ERP module configuration or reporting (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle EBS)
