Business Litigation/Bankruptcy Associate

Location: Kansas City, MO

Work Style: Hybrid (Office/Work-From-Home)

About The Role

A respected regional law firm is seeking a skilled Business Litigation/Bankruptcy Associate to join its Kansas City team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience with a strong background in creditor rights , including replevins, suits on notes and guaranties, and foreclosure matters. Active licenses in Missouri and Kansas are required.

What You'll Do

• Manage replevin actions to recover personal property from borrowers, including drafting petitions, obtaining judgments, and coordinating delivery/eviction when necessary.
• Prepare and prosecute suits on promissory notes and guaranties to secure judgments.
• Order and review title reports and provide advice to clients.
• Handle judicial and non-judicial foreclosure actions, including drafting pleadings, coordinating publications, and conducting sales.
• Maintain strong client relationships with consistent communication and high-quality legal advice.
• Oversee case progression to ensure efficient and successful outcomes.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in bankruptcy, creditor rights, and related litigation.
• Licensed in both Missouri and Kansas.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage case activities independently while thriving in a collaborative team.
